Cherry on top goes to....

ME!

Yup.

I received an award the other day from the wonderful Hannah, and I have heartily accepted the award because...it's cute and I like the way it looks.

Without further ado...

And you guessed it. There are always rules.

Always.

They are:

  • link back to the person who gave you the award (check)
  • list three things you like about yourself (yikes)
  • pass the award on to five other bloggers (that's not so hard)
So...three things I like about myself...

  1. I like that I'm happy every day. Not all day every day, but every single day, even the really rotten ones, at some point I feel happy. I'm happy most of the days now that Jerkface is gone. Just goes to show you that roommates really suck.
  2. I am an insanely fast typist. My coworkers tell me that if I played piano like I type, I could be a world famous concert pianist. It already helps with my flute playing. Maybe one day I really will learn how to play the piano properly. (I can tinker around and play parts of songs that I see other people play. I can play the entire right hand side of Fur Elise. But I really can't play.)
  3. Well, let's see. I've listed a personality trait and a skill. So I guess now I should list something physical...I like my eyes. Nope. I take it back. I love my eyes. They are big and green/blue/grey and pretty and I just like them. A compliment about my eyes is the only compliment I can take easily without feeling awkward or shy or just uncomfortable.
And that's three things I like about myself. Yay! So...check to that one.

Now to pass it on to five different bloggers.

Alright, I'm going to be honest. I'm lazy. Really, really lazy. And I don't want to take the time to pick out any blogs personally. Also, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by not giving a blog award. I always worry about that, you know. I don't like the idea of hurting anyone's feelings.

So, I'm going to feed everybody's name into a randomizer I found online and then the first five names it comes up with are getting the award. Because all of the blogs I read are awesome and make my day, and I can't choose myself. Also, I'm lazy.

So...

And it was completely the luck of the draw. How about that? It's the perfect way to choose awards! I mean, it's not like I follow any blogs I don't love. So why agonize about who to choose when a program can do it for you?

Exactly.

And it's not like I'm breaking any rules. It said "pass it on to five other bloggers". It did not say "choose" or even how to choose. It didn't even say "your absolute favorite blogs." I'd call that a loophole.

Congratulations, you guys. Give yourselves a pat on the back and share the love.

  1. Yep, that randomizer knows what's what. It picked me first.

  2. I'm sure you rigged the randomizer. You knew I was going to use it and you were waiting.

    First picked. First to comment.

    It's a little suspicious.

  3. DUDE I HAVE AWARD DRAMA TOO. I'm always like, how can I choose? How? Who's going to be hurt that I didn't pick them? That's why I started the numbered blog roll page (which I never never update anymore...because I'm a bad blogger), so I could just choose a random number. BUT then I decided I should just pick one person, per award, no matter what...but I'm still all torn up about it. I have such a love-hate relationship with awards. I love that they promote blogs (so important!) but I hate the choosing thing. So...in short, you're really really smart.

  4. I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates choosing! There's always so much pressure in it! You don't want to make the decision that hurts someone's feelings or leaves someone feeling left out. It's fun to get them, but I totally get why some people just don't like to pass them on...

I was so glad I found the randomizer. It saved me from the decision. It also saved me from putting all the names in Excel to randomize. That was the original plan...until I googled "randomizer" and found it. I like your random number blog roll idea, too.

  5. Bryan used his time machine to fix this some way. I'm sure of it.
Congratulations on being choosen by the randomizer...except for you, Bryan. Cheater! ;)

  6. I don't like your randomizer.

  7. Well congrats Chanel! And good for you for LOVING your eyes! It's so great when people can acknowledge their positive traits. Oh, and the typing speed: I'm so jealous! I could get so much blogging done if I didn't type like an arthritic old lady.

  8. Asha, I don't think he's going to confess to fixing the randomizer. But he would have had to go back in time. How else could he possibly have known which randomizer I would use unless he saw it?

Doug, I knew you wouldn't when I realized it didn't pick you. Maybe you should have gone back in time and fixed the vote.

Sandra, thank you. I'm sure you don't type like an arthritic old lady because if you did you'd hate typing. It took me two years of tech classes to get to my typing speed, and I've been told is a fairly useless skill. But it's fun. I like the clicking sound when I type really fast.

  9. Now that you brought them up, when do we get to see your eyes?

  10. I was about to say you can totally see my eyes in my picture...

    But you can't.

Very well. I will put up a picture of my eyes.
